Former Northridge Guard Still In The Game
As a crafty combination guard, Dallin Williams posed a unique threat as a 6-foot, high octane ball handler and deep outside shot maker with intergalactic range.
Williams was able to stretch out and soften defenses with his shooting--straight-away threes, daggers from the corner, and coming off screens.
He played with a swagger and some extra juice, erupting and revving up the home crowd with his ability to stick opportunistic 3-pointers.
After averaging 19 points to go with 3.5 assists and four boards per game at Northridge HS in Layton, Utah, the gym rat is looking to return following a gap year sabbatical.
Williams fits a need at the next level, with the ability to pull up from near NBA range.
As a pure shooter, he's able to get shots off via the stepback, pull up, and also fire in transition 3-pointers.
He's worked at polishing his skill set as a multi-dimensional guard, off-setting a height deficiency with the ability to make plays with an instinctive, high IQ style.
And while shooting may be Williams' calling card, he prides himself on a game that's largely predicated on confrontational and multi-positional defense.
As a senior at Northridge, he was utilized as both an off the ball and on the ball defender. He was also able to guard bigger guys without evoking a mismatch and wound up averaging 2.2 steals per game.
Williams realized recently that he doesn't want to bid adieu to the game just yet.
So, entertaining a schedule that includes conditioning and a steady dose of pick up games, he's looking to resurrect his career.
"I took a year off and I'm currently looking to play in college, I am willing to pursue all avenues," Williams said.
"I know I can have a heavy impact somewhere and I can't wait for what the future holds. I'm staying grounded and focused."
