Sleepers: Florida Prep/PG Guards
Jaron Gilmore, North Florida Prep--The 6-foot-6 Class of 2026 guard/wing has all of the essential intangibles of a game breaking scoring threat.
Gilmore erupted during the Myrtle Beach Slam down in South Carolina, averaging 25 points per game. Was able to spread the floor with tape measure 3-pointers from NBA range and really create space off the bounce. He brings uniqueness with his ability to hit transition treys and also grab rebounds out of the box, as he showed throughout the event.
Long and capable of levitating above the rim, Gilmore is a ferocious finisher who continues to get out in the open floor and turn in dunks. He has the lanky frame and broomstick long arms to be a quick hit impact player at the next level, as he scores it in a variety of ways and can use his long reach to change shots and guard the 1-4 at this level.
Naim Mouzon, Prestige Sports Academy (FL)--The 6-foot-4 guard is a confrontational one on one defender who instigates turnovers and constantly disrupts the passing lanes with his length.
The New Jersey native plays with boundless two-way energy, keeping defenders giving chase with his hard slashing style. He relishes contact and has manufactured points in all phases of the game as he takes on a substantial role in the Post Grad scene.
Mouzon has shown an adeptness for getting into traffic, beating defenders on forays to the rim, and using the angles with his finishing. He has a smooth jumper that adds balance to his repertoire as well.
Chris Young, PWSA: The 6-foot-1 guard is emerging into a defensive backbone while playing an unforgiving schedule in Florida post grad’s ranks.
A cerebral passer who engineers the running game and locates cutters at the opportune time, Young has been a pinpoint assists man for a spanking new team that is putting together an identity.
Buoyed by competitive juices and New York toughness, Young has been a hard attacking guard with a proficiency in carving his way to the rim. He is a crafty finisher who uses the angles well in traffic.
Defensively, he sets a loud tone with his ball-hawking and consistent clamp down operation, as he always tasks himself with neutralizing either the opponent’s primary ball handler or the focal point scorer.
He has a bursty style to him , as he is able to instigate turnovers and convert them into transition leak-outs.
Raised in rough and tumble Brooklyn and having played much of his formative years in Long Island, Young has a good bloodline as well.
Young is the nephew of Dan Mooney, a late bloomer recruit who wound up re-writing the record books at SUNY New Paltz before going on to author a professional career.
Noah Gogelein, Prestige Sports Academy
The 6-foot-4 guard from Germany is a young shooter with a growing guard skill set at 6-foot-4.
The Class of 2027 Gogelein has a tremendous feel for the game with his ability to step into passing lanes and also guard multiple positions.
Since adapting to the American game, he has added strength to his frame and thus made conditioning a livelihood. He rebounds out of the box and can make plays as a facilitator.
Part of a Prestige WW Sports program which has tapped into the international market, Gogelein has a refined guard skill set. He is never sped up and has become a primary ball handler who can make plays on the drive and on the cut off the ball.
Ibrahima Fall, PWWSA--The 6-foot-4 Class of 2026 prospect is a rare throwback with his innate ability to score between a defender and the rim.
Rather than being too over reliant on his shot or leaning on his deep jumper, Fall is constantly in attack mode. He is a hard slashing threat who barrells his way to the rim.
From the Senegal via Ohio, Fall has developed the niceties of a true undersized post player.
He has steadily materialized into a catch and shoot presence, capable of steering big rim protectors out of the paint. He continues to make consistency with his 15-18 foot jumper a finer point of his hardwood trade.
Fall has been proficient at getting into the nooks and crannies of defendes and finishing through hard contact.
Jacob Pleyer, The Rock School--The 6-foot-4 guard has transformed his body, packing muscle onto a once spindly frame and impacting the game in a handful of ways.
As a knockdown shooter known for his 3-point prowess and knack for sparking runs when he buries consecutive 3-pointers when he seizes the hot hand, Pleyer differentiates himself as a shot maker.
He has added to his college ready appeal, however, with his ability to defend at a high level and induce turnovers.
He has become more prone to lay down and take a charge and also contribute to vital stops during moments of heightened pressure in a game.
Pleyer turned in a 17-point showing out in Louisville during the Grind Session event which broke in the new year.
While Pleyer splashed 3-pointers (he was 6-for-12 in two games) and finished through traffic and in transition, it was his defensive grit and willingness to play physical that drew significant notice.
